Endodontics is a treatment by which the pulp material is removed from the tooth (“nerve”) whether vital or not and the root canals are disinfected to remove inflammation and/or infection of the root area of the teeth usually caused by bacteria from a deep cavity. These ducts are then sealed with a filler material.

In endodontic (more fragile) teeth or when we need to correct a defect of dental position to restore its correct function the most indicated treatment is an inlay.
It is an indirect restoration for which a dental impression is performed that will allow the laboratory technician to manufacture the missing piece of the tooth, then cemented to return the integrity to the tooth. It’s a more conservative procedure than a prosthetic crown or “foundation.”
